There is so much fierce competition out there now, particularly since the Global Financial Crisis and we are now in a 'new economy', uncharted waters.
Yes we all like a discount who doesn't but in our industry if you go down that road all that will happen is you will not make any money and will simply attract 'ambulance chasers' looking for their next Deal. These are not customers that will stay and they usually complain in my opinion.
The alternative is to offer value added , when someone calls for an appointment simply ask "do you want an eyebrow wax with that". You may have simply prompted the client who would have gone somewhere else for this service. Now maybe 20% of your clients will say 'yes' but that is a gain for you and over one month, let's work out the maths.
