This is the life and soul of any salon and unless the staff are aware from the get go that your expectations of re-bookings are going to a strategic part of their job then they will not see the benefits of doing this.

Having a staff handbook or policy and procedures manual will help you overcome the difficulties of this contentious issue, which is what I did to solve the ongoing problem of why this should be done.

Ideally we should be getting in 75% of the total salon re-booking on an average basis.
